You Better Think

A lot has been on my mind and I've been doing a lot of thinking. I've come to conclusion that I will always ask myself before I speak, is it kind? Is it necessary? Is it true or will it improve on the silence? One always have to remember to think before we speak. Being error is only human but knowing error and following it, is dumb. I'm glad I'm not dumb- no one is perfect but you got to be aware and work on it. Silly faux pas are made everyday but the company you keep can define who you are as a person.

Like Ms. Aretha Franklin sings:

You better think (think) think about what you're trying to do to me
Yeah, think (think, think), let your mind go, let yourself be free

Momma's Brand New Bag

I, JaNKoBot love Fantasia and these pictures are giving me life. I'm so glad the photographer, Derek Blanks airbrushed those prison tattoos that Fantasia have. I'm not too keen on tattoos on women because it just make them look I don't know... Too around the way. I wish Fantasia, Keyshia Cole, Monica and Mary J. Blige would get rid of theirs. What I love about Fantasia is her voice, boy can she show out and for no damn reason at that. She definitely gives me Miss Patti Labelle downe! Check out this clip of Fantasia and Jennifer Hudson, singing their asses off to, I'm His Only Woman. It gave me Aretha Franklin and Patti Labelle teas downe!

Aretha Hat Resurfaces

Yep on her birthday. ARETHA FRANKLIN celebrated her 67th birthday Friday at Seldom Blues in Detroit with a cake shaped like her inaugural hat. I fucking love it! Happy Birthday aunt Ri-Ri..

Aretha Franklin My Country Tis Of Thee

I know everyone is still so excited over the Inauguration and such but what made me all teary eyed was Aretha Franklin's performance of My Country Tis of Thee. Her voice did something to me, maybe it was the sound of pain and joy that came out from it when she performed the song. She's from an era where black folks was brutally discriminated against. Maybe it was the sound of her never thinking she would be able to see a first Black President and her welcoming him in with her gift of sound. Whatever it was, they picked a great choice of sound to welcome in the President.

Aunty ReRe definitely showed us why she's still the reigning Queen of Soul! And she had on her Sunday's best, I'm living for that hat-fuck what ya heard, see what folks don't know is that, the hat she had on, represented the music era she came from where folks where segregation was big and the ladies of music around that time also wore hats like that as well.
