Closer

“Closer” (2004)

Everyone has a movie that alters the way they look at life in some major way, shape, or form. For me, this was that movie. I was rather young when I watched it, but it put many things in perspective for me; love, relationships, the interchangeability of male/female dominance, control, and emotional manipulation, just to name a few. As a young man, this movie unapologetically showed me that there are generally two types of men in this world. I guess in some ways, the same can be said for women. Ultimately, I feel as though these four characters are perfect symbols of the most common personality types I’ve encountered in my life as a Lover. Not to mention, the reality is, (emotionally or sexually) most of us are involved in a love triangle or web of some sort, whether we are aware of it or not.
